An Autumn afternoon tea with Alice

It was a very special, sunshiny Afternoon Tea with An Author with Alice Achan and Philippa Tyndale, as we launched their remarkable book 'The School of Restoration'. (Allen & Unwin)

From my kitchen came fragrant tea, date scones, buttermilk scones with Jane’s jams and four fabulous, fluffy Victoria Sponge, for our sell-out crowd to enjoy. Hearts were touched and new friends made, as my guests shared a front row seat to a conversation with these courageous women.

A huge thank you to all the beautiful guests who were able to gather to meet Alice and hear a little of her story. I know as you read the book you'll be inspired all over again! My friend and local, photographer talent, Samantha Mackie gave her time to capture the afternoon beautifully through the lens, enjoy her images of food and friendship.

Our next Afternoon Tea with An Author will be on Saturday 22nd July with friend and seasoned author Maggie MacKellar, for a Palm Beach launch of her latest release Graft - I'm excited to have Maggie join us, she is a captivating writer - you will love her and her words.
