Twelve sleeps til Christmas!

Twelve sleeps til Christmas!

So this year I’ll not be doing the cooking, baking, preserving and making of gifts – instead I’m simmering stocks, stewing fruit, making chicken soup and rhubarb crumble, to help nourish and heal the very, very brave patient. Grateful for the gift of being able to have Christmas with mum, I’ve decided to outsource the making of our gifts this year. The criteria for choosing what to give is simple, they’ll still be handmade with love, from small family-owned Australian and local businesses, many founded and owned by our dear friends. With just twelve sleeps til Christmas, I thought you might like to know what twelve things are on my list to give!

Citrus in the City

Citrus in the City

Wintertime means citrus season with an abundance of oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruit, cumquats and Seville oranges hanging on neighbourhood trees and at farmers market stalls. Celebrating Mum!

Celebrating Mum!

Today was a special day, a significant moment in the life of our family, a day to celebrate mum! We gathered together as a family to eat, drink and be merry, at a shared table for her 80th birthday day. Mum is not overly keen on people knowing she is 'that old', so much so that she wanted to pop the balloon that screamed '80' at the top of the table cluster!

Come celebrate with a tour of the Carriageworks Farmers Market!

For the past four years now I have been running monthly tours to my favourite Sydney food market, Carriageworks Farmers Market. My quest to convert supermarket shoppers to being farmers market shoppers. My desire to awaken in people an understanding and passion, to meet and support the lovely, hardworking Australians who farm, grow, bake, make, pickle, preserve and produce your food.
